As a provider of damage protection for the short-term rental market, we are committed to establishing and maintaining policies and procedures which protect the privacy of personal information gathered from our customers, prospects and other visitors to our website.

• Property and stay details: property addresses, guest names, booking numbers and stay dates.
• Payments: card details go directly to our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
• Claims: descriptions, photos, receipts, signatures and the IP address used to sign.
• Messages: what you send through our contact form, support chat or email.
• Device and usage: IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, collected through server logs and analytics cookies.

How We Use Information

We use this information to issue and manage your coverage, process payments, handle claims, run partner accounts and pay referral fees, answer your questions, prevent fraud and keep the site secure, and send you information about our products. You can opt out of marketing at any time, as described below.

Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide the Services:

• InsureStays (Sandhills Insurance Group, LLC) and RentalGuardian.com, to issue and administer your coverage.
• Sedgwick, the claims administrator, to review and pay claims.
• Stripe, to process payments.
• Service providers that host the site and store files (Fly.io, Tigris), deliver email (Amazon Web Services), provide address lookup and site analytics (Google), and power our support chat and screen contact-form messages for spam (Anthropic).
• The host or property manager for the stay, who can see the coverage and claims for their property.
• Authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, property or safety and those of others.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your choices and keep the site secure. On our public pages we also use Google Analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site; they are not used in the signed-in account area. If you block cookies you can still browse the site, but you may not be able to buy a plan or sign in.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep information for as long as needed to provide coverage and handle claims, and afterwards as required for tax, accounting and legal purposes.
